Google announced Android 12.0, the most recent version of the Android operating system. Many modifications have been made to the user interface, as well as updated privacy settings. The new operating system is now accessible as a beta on Google’s Pixel phones as well as a few other phones from OnePlus, Xiaomi, and other manufacturers.
Key Features Of the new Android 12.0
1. The new Privacy Features
Google has now included a new privacy dashboard that simply shows you which apps and services are accessing your personal information and how frequently they do so. Android 12.0, like iOS 14, has privacy indications that alert users when an app is accessing their phone’s camera or microphone.
2. The new One- handed Mode
Android 12.0 has a new one-handed mode that reduces the size of the phone’s screen to allow users to operate it with only one hand while still being able to reach all of the screen’s corners.
3. A dedicated Gaming Mode
According to a reddit user, the 12.0 beta features a Dedicated Game Mode hidden under the Digital Wellbeing section. It seemed a strange spot to hide such a vital feature, but Google plans to integrate the Game mode directly into the operating system at the core level.
4.Better Performance and Battery efficiency
Devices running Android 12.0 will be quicker, more responsive, and more power-efficient. In Android 12 OS, Google has cut the CPU time required for key system services by up to 22% and the system server’s utilization of huge cores by up to 15%.
5. Custom Notifications
Notifications, too, have seen some design changes. Notification windows have altered in appearance, and they are now automatically grouped by app or split if they are not conversational. Also, instead of needing to swipe on the notice to snooze it, there’s a new simple snooze option that you can use.
6. Huge Lock Screen
The redesigned lock screen clock is probably the first thing you’ll notice when you turn on a phone running Android 12.0. A huge digital clock takes pride of place right in the center of the screen while your phone is free of alerts.
7. New Pin code Design
When you swipe to unlock the phone, you’ll see that the PIN code keypad has a new look. The pastel-colored ‘buttons’ are circular, big, and simple. This identical style is likely to appear on the phone dial pad as well.
Android 12 revamps the existing Widgets to improve the user and developer experience in the platform and launchers. Widgets in Android 12.0 have rounded corners. When an app widget is used on a device running Android 12 or higher, the launcher automatically identifies the widget’s background and crops it to have rounded corners.
