Just blow up a balloon [you can choose your favorite color as well, place your smartphone on the balloon with the screen facing down, and finally collapse the balloon at a slow pace and you will get to see your smartphone getting wrapped in a rubber skin when the balloon is out of air. While this may not protect your phone 100% of the time, as there is a chance of the balloon slipping or getting ripped, it is still better than carrying your phone totally unprotected.

Or use any other spare phone to take photographs and keep your main smartphone safe in your desk drawer, you should also try to avoid using multiple devices on this day, using earphones, Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth in-ear devices, Apple watch. Smartwatch, Fitness tracking devices, should all be avoided. Manage yourself with inexpensive earphones, cover up all the holes [speaker grill, headphone jack, even micro USB port] or the best option is to keep your phone at home for a day.
These techniques will help you to lower the risk of getting your smartphone damaged. But still what if any trouble comes up, like if your phone gets wet just calm down and never ever try to turn on your smartphone in such a situation.
WATER DAMAGE – Do’s & Don’ts
So what if you didn’t read this blog, or took all the precautions and still ended up with your expensive and very important smartphone getting wet? Well, 1st thing to do is NOT PANIC, its Holi, so your phone repair shops won’t be open or may not have spare parts for your phone.
Here are a few steps that can help you salvage the situation and save you a lot of trouble and money:
The Rice Bowl: If your smartphone/iPhone got wet, the first thing you want to do is turn off the device, and if it has a removable battery, then take it out, if not then just bury the device in a bowl or container of rice. The phone should be covered with a thick layer of rice from all sides. Now leave the phone undisturbed for at least 4 hours. Rice soaks moisture and water (ask mom, she can tell) if the water hasn’t damaged any of your internal circuits or motherboard, then this procedure will remove any superficial moisture in the device and save you time and money.
WARNING: Do not try to use a hairdryer to dry your phone. It’s better to let it air dry. Using a hairdryer or any similar device can overheat the internal components of your phone and even cause it to catch fire or the battery to combust.
Seek Professional Help: Like in the case of chest pains, we don’t want to take chances when it comes to our mobile phones as they are such an integral part of our lives now. Hence, if home remedies do not fix your phone, then don’t experiment just yet, you might end up doing more harm than good. Take your phone to a nearby repair shop and have them assess and do the needful, repair technicians have proper tools and training to handle the small, delicate yet important parts of your smartphone and will be able to fix your phone by repairing or swapping bad parts out. Unless it’s total damage to the circuit, they will bring your phone back to life.
Technicians do not recommend repairing a phone with motherboard damages as it is very hard to find quality parts and expensive to do that repair as well, whereas in today’s market you can by powerful smartphones without burning a hole in your pocket, which is the option many people choose in such situations.
We hope these tips will help you keep your phone safe and enjoy the festival of Holi without Gadget Damage.
